Case Study

The Redmond area school district had a zero tolerance policy for gambling at work. After the network proxy server detected a computer going to an online gambling site they figured out who was at the keyboard and had to make a difficult decision.

The employee was a long term custodian that the district valued. They were torn between their clear policy and loyalty to the employee.

eSleuth was retained to examine the computer. Our computer forensic analysis indicated that the computer received some banner ads promoting gambling and that the computer user clicked on one – but nothing else

No actual gambling, no personnel action needed, a valued employee is retained.

Computer forensics provided a voice for the innocent.

Our role

We are called by attorneys, organizations, law enforcement and individuals. They want our technical capabilities to provide opinions in complex matters.

Civil matters: Computer forensic investigations can often clearly define the situation. This is especially true when spoiliation is an issue.

Criminal cases: Don’t depend on a tech when our broader capabilities can clearly define what really happened.

Organizations: eSleuth provides depth from work in government, corporate and nonprofits. Important clues come from computer and cell phone forensics. We enjoy solving problems in multidimensional situations.
